Lech looks back on a long tradition of hospitality. As early as 1937, the first ski lift in Austria was built here. Nowadays this once quaint mountain town has become a world-renowned travel destination. Despite its growing popularity, Lech has succeeded in retaining its small town charm as well as its cosy, hospitible ambienté. This quality is exactly what lead to the town being named "Europe's most beautiful town in 2004".
Due to the special blend of its modern infrastructure, the connection with the region and respectfully applied development Lech enjoys the status as one of the select 12 'Best of the Alps' resorts.
Whether it is ski or snowboard competitions, art and cultural events, the regional museum, concerts of all kinds, cabaret, film premieres or otherwise, there is so much on offer in Lech and Zuers am Arlberg. In Winter there are the classics such as the Zuers acoustic fireworks display for example, the 'White Ring' ski race, the Bregenz Festival in the Snow, the Winter Wine Weeks and of course the legendary Oberlech Spring Festival. This is complemented by numerous other art, musical and cultural events.
